Commitment to Early Detection: Chris Evert’s story

A few days ago, tennis great Chris Evert announced her cancer had returned. As a pioneer and leader in women’s sports, Evert's rediagnose is a very sad yet important story for all women.  Her experience underscores the importance of early detection and the profound impact it can have on the battle against ovarian cancer.

Two years ago, when Evert first faced her diagnosis, she shared that she felt fortunate that her ovarian cancer was caught early. Her sentiment deeply resonates with all of us at @GenEndeavor, where we are intently focused on developing technologies for the early-detection of ovarian cancer.

Despite some incredible progress made in cancer research in the last several years, sadly, advanced stage ovarian cancer still results in a 17% survival rate.  This means that there are no screening tests available for the nearly 4 billion women in the world.

Evert's proactive approach, including genetic testing, showcases the importance of being informed, proactive and vigilant about one's health. Ovarian cancer, as highlighted by the Centers for Disease Control, is most effectively treated when detected early.

At GenEndeavor, we begin 2024 as committed as ever to developing technologies that help women everywhere in their fight against ovarian cancer.
